The second round of the 2025 NBA playoffs is currently in progress. On Thursday night, the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Golden State Warriors, who were playing without Stephen Curry due to a hamstring injury, evening their series at 1-1.
Wednesday night proved much more dynamic, as the New York Knicks overcame a 20-point deficit for the second consecutive game to secure a victory against the Boston Celtics. The Knicks now hold a 2-0 lead over the reigning champions after two impressive come-from-behind road wins at TD Garden and are set to return home to Madison Square Garden on Saturday.
Wednesday`s action also marked the first home team win of the second round, with the Oklahoma City Thunder convincingly defeating the Denver Nuggets. The Thunder`s performance included a remarkable, record-tying 87 points scored in the first half. This win brought the Thunder-Nuggets series level at 1-1.
In the Eastern Conference, the top-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers are facing a challenging situation, having lost the first two games of their series against the Indiana Pacers. Game 3 for that series is scheduled for Friday evening.
Heading into the second round, the Oklahoma City Thunder were listed as the favorites to win the championship (+130 odds according to Caesars).
