Alexandre Pantoja Debuts Custom ‘Power, Wisdom, Fortune’ Shorts for UFC 317

MMA News

Flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja is set to wear a distinctive new pair of custom fight shorts for his upcoming fourth title defense at UFC 317.

These unique shorts have been revealed as the latest addition to the UFC Unrivaled collection, developed through the promotion`s partnership with VENUM. Pantoja will defend his 125-pound championship against challenger Kai Kara-France, featured as the co-main event on Saturday`s highly anticipated pay-per-view card originating from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Reflecting recent trends in the custom gear releases for 2025, Pantoja played an active role in designing his shorts, incorporating his personal style and deeply held beliefs into the aesthetic.

According to the official description, Pantoja chose to feature mythological Japanese dragons, symbols widely associated with power, wisdom, and good fortune. Furthermore, the design pays tribute to his Brazilian heritage with wave-inspired graphics, reminiscent of the iconic beaches of his homeland.

This bout marks Pantoja`s return to the octagon for the first time this year. Known by his nickname “The Cannibal,” he had a dominant 2024 campaign, successfully defending his title on two occasions: defeating Steve Erceg in the main event of UFC 301 and securing a decisive second-round submission victory over Kai Asakura at UFC 310 last December. Pantoja initially captured the flyweight crown in July 2023 at UFC 290, winning a memorable decision against Brandon Moreno in a bout that was a strong candidate for Fight of the Year.
