Sports News

Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter`s participation in the doubles tournament at Queen`s Club has ended. The British pair were defeated in the quarter-finals by the top-seeded duo of Lyudmyla Kichenok and Erin Routliffe, with the final score being 6-2, 7-5.

In the opening set, Raducanu and Boulter found themselves trailing 5-2. A critical moment occurred when Raducanu served two double faults, giving Kichenok and Routliffe a set point, which Kichenok successfully converted with a backhand return.

While Raducanu and Boulter held their serve to start the second set, they continued to face difficulties against the tournament`s No 1 seeds. Despite Raducanu saving two break points when trailing 2-1, Kichenok and Routliffe eventually secured the crucial break they needed to establish an advantage in the second set.

Trailing 4-1, the British team showed resilience, managing to break their opponents` serve to reduce the deficit to 4-3. They then held their own serve to level the set at 4-4.

However, the decisive phase of the match saw Kichenok and Routliffe demonstrate strong play. They saved three break points from 0-40 down to hold their serve for a 5-4 lead. Two games later, they converted their third match point to secure the victory.
