Chase DeMoor successfully defended his heavyweight title, but the victory didn`t come easy.
Competing on Friday at Misfits Boxing 21 in Derby, England, DeMoor faced Tanner Tolman for his title. While DeMoor secured another knockout win, he first had to navigate through a difficult moment in the bout.
Despite being a heavy favorite against Tolman, who was making his first Misfits appearance, DeMoor found himself in serious trouble early in the second round. Tolman landed a powerful right hand that sent DeMoor to the mat, marking the first knockdown of his career.
DeMoor managed to beat the referee`s count and used the following moments to recover, while Tolman pressed forward, aiming to capitalize on his advantage. However, Tolman`s aggressive pursuit proved costly when DeMoor retaliated, dropping Tolman moments before the round concluded.
Tolman also beat the count and saw the round through, but the momentum had clearly shifted away from “Tank”. To his credit, Tolman started the third round aggressively, but this strategy quickly backfired. DeMoor landed a barrage of right hands, decisively ending the fight just over a minute into the third round.
