Boxing legend and former heavyweight champion George Foreman has died at the age of 76.

Foreman`s family announced his passing on his official Instagram account on Friday evening.

In a statement, the family expressed their sorrow, announcing the peaceful passing of George Edward Foreman Sr. on March 21, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. They described him as a devoted preacher, husband, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who lived a life of faith, humility, and purpose.

The statement further highlighted Foreman as a humanitarian, Olympian, and two-time heavyweight world champion. He was deeply respected as a force for good, a disciplined and principled man who fiercely protected his family`s legacy.

The family conveyed gratitude for the outpouring of love and prayers and requested privacy as they celebrate the extraordinary life of a man they were privileged to call their own.

George Foreman had an impressive professional boxing career with a record of 76 wins and 5 losses, including 68 knockouts. He held two heavyweight world championships and shared the ring with iconic fighters such as Joe Frazier, Muhammad Ali, and later Evander Holyfield. Notably, he became the oldest boxer to win the heavyweight title in 1994 at the age of 46 after defeating Michael Moorer.

Beyond boxing, Foreman was also known as the face of the George Foreman Grill, which has sold over 100 million units since 1994. He was inducted into both the International Boxing Hall of Fame and the World Boxing Hall of Fame.
