British tennis player Harriet Dart has apologized for complaining about her opponent`s `smelling really bad` during a match in France and asking the umpire to request her opponent to `put on deodorant`.
Dart was defeated by French player Lois Boisson at the Open de Rouen. During the match, Dart made the comment about Boisson during a break in the second set.
Dart later expressed regret for her words in an Instagram Story, stating: `I want to apologize for what I said on the court today. It was a comment made in the heat of the moment, and I truly regret it. This is not how I want to behave, and I take full responsibility.`

She added, `I have a lot of respect for Lois and her performance today. I will learn from this incident and move forward.`
Boisson responded to the incident humorously on her Instagram Story, posting a photo of herself with deodorant and suggesting a collaboration with Dove.
Boisson`s victory over Dart, who is ranked higher, was considered a significant upset.
Dart`s fellow British player, Sonay Kartal, also lost at the Open de Rouen.
