Jack Draper`s journey at the Monte-Carlo Masters concluded before the quarter-finals, as he faced a tough three-set defeat against Spain`s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

Alcaraz Advances to Quarter-Finals in Straight Sets

Later that day, second seed Carlos Alcaraz defeated Daniel Altmaier 6-3, 6-1, setting up a quarter-final match against France`s Arthur Fils.

Alcaraz recovered from a less convincing performance against Francisco Cerundolo on Wednesday, where he lost the first set before winning the match.

“I Really Had to Battle”

Alcaraz mentioned to Sky Sports Tennis that it was a challenging match. He noted Daniel`s strong clay court game, characterized by heavy top-spin and quick movement.

Alcaraz added that the score doesn`t fully reflect the difficulty of the match and that he had to compete hard.

He expressed satisfaction with breaking serve early in the first set, which helped him gain confidence and play more aggressively in the second set, allowing him to seize his opportunities.
