Jack Draper’s Potential Path to Alcaraz and Shelton at Monte-Carlo

Sports News

British tennis player Jack Draper is set to compete in his first match at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters against either Denis Shapovalov, a former Wimbledon semi-finalist, or Marcos Giron.

Draper, currently the top-ranked British player, is seeded fifth in Monte-Carlo, granting him a bye into the second round. Should he win his first match, he is potentially on track to face American player Ben Shelton, whom he defeated in Indian Wells last month during his tournament victory.

Casper Ruud of Norway, a two-time French Open finalist and the fourth seed in this tournament, is positioned in the same section of the draw as Draper.

If Draper progresses to the semi-finals, he might encounter Carlos Alcaraz, the reigning champion of both the French Open and Wimbledon, for the third time this season.

Novak Djokovic is placed in the opposite half of the draw from Draper. His first match could be against Stan Wawrinka, a 40-year-old Swiss player entering as a wild card, if Wawrinka wins his first-round match against Alejandro Tabilo.

Djokovic, after missing out on the Miami Open title, is aiming to secure his 100th career tour-level title in Monte-Carlo.
