Jake Paul and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Face Off Ahead of Saturday Fight

MMA News

The time is drawing near for Jake Paul and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. to step into the ring. The highly anticipated 10-round cruiserweight bout is scheduled for this Saturday at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

Leading up to their big fight, both Paul and Chavez Jr., alongside other fighters on the undercard, attended the pre-fight press conference held on Thursday. While the press conference itself may not have been explosive, it did provide the opportunity for the two headlining athletes to engage in their first official faceoff.

This fight marks Jake Paul`s return to competition following his high-profile matchup against Mike Tyson last November. Paul is currently riding a five-fight winning streak and is aiming to solidify his position among more seasoned professional boxers.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., the son of boxing legend and Hall of Famer Julio Cesar Chavez, brings extensive experience with 62 professional fights to his name. He is currently on a two-fight winning streak, having most recently earned a unanimous decision victory over former UFC fighter Uriah Hall in July of the previous year.

The fight card also features the notable return of boxing Hall of Famer and former UFC champion Holly Holm to the sport of boxing. Her first professional boxing bout since 2013 will see her face off against professional boxer Yolanda Vega, who holds a record of 10 wins and 1 loss.

Now 43 years old, Holly Holm had a highly successful boxing career before transitioning to MMA, securing 16 titles across three different weight classes. Her most recent appearance in the octagon was a second-round submission loss to Kayla Harrison at UFC 300.
