June 28 is shaping up to be a busy night for combat sports enthusiasts, with both a Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. boxing match and UFC 317 scheduled to take place on the same date.
The pay-per-view details for the Paul vs. Chavez Jr. event have been announced by DAZN. The fight card is also set to feature former UFC champion Holly Holm making her return to boxing on the undercard.
The cost to watch the Paul vs. Chavez Jr. pay-per-view is set at $59.99, in addition to a required DAZN subscription.
This boxing match will be Paul`s first professional bout in 2025. It follows his highly-publicized victory over former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson in November [2024], an event broadcast on Netflix that reportedly garnered over 100 million viewers.
Paul`s win against the 58-year-old Tyson improved his professional record to 11-1. He now aims to add another recognizable name to his list of opponents by stepping into the ring against Chavez Jr. in June.
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., now 39 years old, is considered considerably past his prime when he was a champion and a top contender across multiple weight divisions. His recent record shows a 3-3 split over his last six fights, which includes a notable loss to UFC veteran Anderson Silva, an opponent Jake Paul defeated back in 2022.
Chavez Jr.`s most recent victory came via a less-than-impressive decision against another former UFC fighter, Uriah Hall.
As part of the event, Holly Holm is scheduled to make her return to professional boxing for the first time since 2013, where she is set to face Yolanda Vega on the main card.
The Paul vs. Chavez Jr. boxing event is scheduled to go head-to-head for viewership with UFC 317. The UFC card, taking place in Las Vegas, features a main event for the vacant lightweight title between Ilia Topuria and former champion Charles Oliveira, alongside Alexandre Pantoja defending his flyweight title against Kai Kara-France in the co-main event.
To watch UFC 317, viewers must purchase the pay-per-view for $79.99, in addition to having an ESPN+ subscription.
