Jeremiah Wells Withdraws from UFC Vegas 107; Andreas Gustafsson Awaits New Opponent

MMA News

A scheduled bout for the upcoming UFC Vegas 107 event has been canceled. Veteran fighter Jeremiah Wells has withdrawn from his planned matchup against Andreas Gustafsson due to undisclosed reasons.

This development was initially reported by Octagon Update and subsequently confirmed by multiple sources familiar with the promotion`s plans. The UFC is actively searching for a replacement opponent for Gustafsson.

The withdrawal means Wells will have been sidelined for 15 months. The 38-year-old began his UFC tenure impressively with four straight victories but has since suffered two consecutive losses, falling to Carlston Harris via submission and losing a split decision to Max Griffin at UFC Vegas 86 in February 2024.

Andreas Gustafsson was slated to make his Octagon debut at the event. He earned his UFC contract through Dana White`s Contender Series last August with a second-round knockout win over Pat Pytlik. The 34-year-old is currently riding a three-fight win streak.

UFC Vegas 107 is set to be headlined by a significant women`s flyweight clash between Erin Blanchfield and Maycee Barber.
