Fresh off his victory at UFC 316, Kevin Holland is already setting his sights on future opponents, naming two fighters he`d like to face next in the Octagon.
Holland kicked off the main card at Saturday`s UFC 316 event held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. He secured an impressive win by submitting Vicente Luque in the second round of their welterweight contest.
In the aftermath of his win, Holland specifically challenged prominent welterweight contender Colby Covington. Speaking with reporters backstage, he elaborated on why he believes a fight with Covington makes sense.
“Yeah, I think it would be a good one,” Holland commented. He suggested that a bout between them could potentially replace the current season of *The Ultimate Fighter*. Holland emphasized the marketability of the matchup, stating, “Anything you want to do with me and Colby, it`ll sell. It can be a lot of fun, it can be a lot of shit talking… I think me and Colby does numbers.”
He further argued that a fight with Covington would set records, saying, “We’d be the highest Fight Night, and if we were on a pay-per-view, co-main event, we’d help sell that thing out. You wouldn’t even need a stacked undercard.”
Beyond Covington, Holland also addressed the possibility of fighting Carlos Prates and discussed the types of matchups he is seeking moving forward in his career.
