Khabib Nurmagomedov Offers to Help Patrice Evra Train for PFL Debut: ‘Send Me Location’

MMA News

UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov has readily offered his assistance to former Manchester United soccer star Patrice Evra as he prepares for his upcoming MMA debut in the PFL on May 23rd.

Following his announcement about venturing into mixed martial arts, Evra contacted Nurmagomedov for a discussion. During their conversation, Evra clarified that his entry into fighting is not a mere stunt for attention. The 43-year-old former France international emphasized his commitment to rigorous preparation for this new endeavor.

“I need to train,” Evra stated during their discussion. “I need to take it seriously. You know the immense respect I have for you and for the sport, which is why I truly need a training session with you. I want to learn from the best.”

A long-time admirer of soccer, Nurmagomedov pledged his support should Evra require it, particularly as both are currently based in Dubai during Evra`s fight preparations.

“As I`ve told you numerous times, just send me your location and I`ll come find you,” Nurmagomedov responded. “Send the location, tell me where you are. When I see you, be ready, and that`s all. I`ll handle the rest. I`ll teach you how to ‘smash’ people.”

Naturally, Nurmagomedov is recognized as one of MMA`s premier coaches, having trained numerous champions including current UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev and PFL lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov.

Since retiring from active competition, Nurmagomedov has devoted himself almost entirely to coaching. He is renowned for his intense training methods and his dedication to maximizing his fighters` potential. It appears he is prepared to welcome Evra to his training group whenever their schedules allow them to work together.

“My only goal is for you to improve,” Nurmagomedov stated. “Nothing more. It was great seeing you, and I truly hope you send me your location so we can train together.”

Evra is scheduled to make his PFL debut on May 23rd at the upcoming event in Paris, France, held at the Accor Arena.
