Round 1
Brady, in orthodox stance, came out aggressively against Edwards, who was in southpaw. Brady launched a strong right hand immediately as they met in the center. Edwards responded quickly, maintaining distance and landing a good counter left.
Brady continued to press forward. Edwards controlled the range, using his lead hand. A clinch ensued, with Brady landing a knee. Edwards returned with knees and broke free. The pace was fast from the start.
Edwards displayed good footwork, circling and staying off his back foot. Another clinch saw Edwards with good head position. Brady, however, was strong, landing a knee before they separated. Brady landed a sharp combination, looking strong early on.
Brady initiated another clinch after punches, making it a tough fight. Brady consistently worked for a deep underhook with his right hand.
The ESPN stream experienced issues. Action was missed during this time. Upon return, the fight was in a clinch with 90 seconds left in the round. Brady pushed Edwards against the fence and landed some shots. Brady appeared to have taken a hit, showing a welt on his face.
Edwards reversed position, pushing Brady against the fence. Both fighters worked inside before separating. Brady landed a knee and then tripped Edwards in the final 20 seconds, ending the round in half-guard, a strong finish to the round for Brady.

Brady aggressively moved across the cage and immediately shot for a double-leg takedown, going deep and almost securing it. Edwards initially gave up his back against the fence but Brady took him down, transitioning to top half guard.
Edwards gave up his back to stand, but Brady secured a hook and then both hooks, taking his back. Edwards defended, holding Brady`s hand as Brady landed strikes. Brady had ample time to work, aiming to be the first to finish Edwards.
Brady transitioned to a body triangle. Edwards played full defense, not turning to his stronger side. Brady remained active, softening Edwards with strikes, including a solid elbow. Edwards offered little offense, still maintaining a body lock. He eventually turned, and Brady adjusted, Edwards regaining half guard.
Brady maintained heavy pressure and attempted a kimura, securing the arm but Edwards defended, holding onto his shorts. With 90 seconds left, Brady elbowed the knee to try and open up the arm.
Edwards defended effectively for 60 seconds, but Brady eventually freed the arm and moved to mount. Edwards turned, giving up his back again. Brady punished him as Edwards continued to turn. Brady dominated Edwards on the ground. Edwards showed decent defense, avoiding a finish, but the round was clearly damaging for him, indicating Brady`s grappling advantage.

Round 3
Leon Edwards needed a significant change to revive his title aspirations. He appeared defeated in his corner as his team tried to motivate him. Brady was expected to attempt another immediate takedown.
However, Brady surprisingly threw a head kick, which missed. Edwards controlled the center and landed a good uppercut as Brady moved in, followed by an elbow. Brady shot for a takedown from distance, but Edwards defended. Another clinch occurred, with Brady using a strong underhook and Edwards maintaining head position.
Edwards then attempted a takedown, but made a mistake as Brady quickly locked in a headlock. Brady worked for a guillotine choke and rolled Edwards onto his back. Edwards made a major error, and Brady transitioned to full mount!
Edwards held on tightly. Brady maintained a high mount. Edwards rolled and then attempted a single-leg takedown, but Brady stuffed it and landed significant punches. Edwards got to his knees, but Brady took his back in a turtle position. Edwards tried to stand, but Brady broke his base.
Edwards went back down with Brady in top half guard. Brady was relentless, staying on top and smothering Edwards. Edwards continued to work defensively but appeared to have lost the fight strategically, with the remaining question being how he would lose.
Brady took Edwards` back again, securing both hooks. Edwards defended his arms but was flattened out as Brady landed punches. Edwards went to his knees, and Brady continued to punch. The shots weren`t powerful but numerous. The question remained whether Edwards would last the 25 minutes or if Brady would finish him. Edwards showed resilience and survived the round.

Round 4
Brady`s corner believed they would finish Edwards in this round. Brady immediately pressured Edwards across the cage. Edwards showed resilience but lacked offense.
Brady pushed Edwards against the fence with punches and shot for a takedown, similar to those used by Belal Muhammad. Brady clearly studied tape, and Edwards hadn`t resolved this weakness, as Brady took him down again.
Brady secured top half guard. He used a guillotine grip to transition to mount, and the guillotine looked tight! It was indeed tight! From mount, with the guillotine applied, Edwards tapped out! Brady became the first person to finish Leon Edwards, making a significant statement!
