Madrid Open 2025 Draw and Schedule

Sports News

Here is an overview of the Madrid Open 2025 draw and schedule, highlighting key players like Aryna Sabalenka and Jack Draper.

Britain`s Jack Draper has secured a spot in the quarter-finals following Matteo Berrettini`s injury retirement. The 23-year-old Briton is now among the top-ranked players remaining in his section of the draw after the exits of Alexander Zverev and Taylor Fritz.

Play on Monday was interrupted due to a nationwide power outage affecting Spain and Portugal, causing initial delays for Tuesday as well.

Tournament organisers later confirmed power restoration at the Caja Mágica venue, announcing that gates would open at 11:00 AM and play would resume at 12:00 PM, according to the original Tuesday schedule.

Among other notable results, Alexander Zverev was eliminated in the third round by Francisco Cerundolo, and Taylor Fritz lost in straight sets to Casper Ruud.

Novak Djokovic suffered his third consecutive defeat, falling to unseeded Italian Matteo Arnaldi. The world No. 5 subsequently withdrew from the Italian Open in Rome.

Billy Harris`s tournament run ended in the qualifying rounds with a loss to Ethan Quinn.

The British women`s contingent has exited the tournament. Emma Raducanu was defeated by Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine in a closely contested three-set match.

This followed the exit of British No. 1 Katie Boulter in the same round, who was decisively beaten 6-1, 6-2 by Jasmine Paolini in just 56 minutes.
