Across the continent in Edmonton, it seemed the Golden Knights and Oilers were headed for overtime after Connor McDavid leveled the score at 3 with just over three minutes remaining. However, Reilly Smith had other plans.

As regulation time expired, Smith collected a loose puck in the high slot and executed a brilliant play. He faked out two Oilers players, patiently circled Edmonton goalie Stuart Skinner, and banked the winning goal off Leon Draisaitl`s stick with only 0.4 seconds left on the clock.

Following these thrilling games, Sunday`s matchups face a high bar but promise further excitement. The Winnipeg Jets and Dallas Stars will face off in a crucial Game 3, followed by the Toronto Maple Leafs attempting to push the Florida Panthers to the brink of elimination.
