The upcoming Noche UFC 3 card, which was anticipated to take place in September in Guadalajara, Mexico, is being relocated. The decision was made because construction on the planned arena in Guadalajara would not be completed in time for the scheduled event.
As a result of Guadalajara being unavailable, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has changed plans, moving the Noche UFC event to San Antonio, Texas. The card is now slated to be held at the Frost Bank Center on September 13th.
This news was officially announced during the UFC Vegas 107 broadcast that aired on Saturday.
Speculation had been prevalent for weeks that the Noche UFC card might be moved. This followed the relocation of several other events previously expected to be held in Guadalajara, also due to concerns about the venue`s readiness.
The move is now confirmed, meaning the UFC`s third annual event celebrating Mexican Independence Day will take place in Texas. The first two editions of Noche UFC were held in Las Vegas.
While Noche UFC 3 was initially announced with the designation UFC 320, the upcoming event is now being promoted as a Fight Night card instead.
Currently, no specific fights have been announced for the San Antonio event. The inaugural Noche UFC card was headlined by a women`s flyweight championship bout between Valentina Shevchenko and Alexa Grasso, while UFC 306 featured Merab Dvalishvili facing Sean O’Malley in the main event at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
