Ryan Garcia Considers Boxing Match Against Jake Paul

MMA News

Ryan Garcia is currently involved in a lawsuit concerning Logan Paul, but this legal issue isn`t preventing him from considering a potential boxing match against Logan`s brother, Jake Paul.

The 26-year-old boxer recently shared his thoughts on the Paul brothers. He was previously friendly with Jake but later clashed with Logan. The disagreement with Logan arose from Garcia`s comments about Logan`s Prime Energy drink company, which led to a defamation lawsuit against Garcia.

Despite the ongoing legal situation with Logan, Garcia clarified that he holds no animosity towards Jake and is open to a fight.

“I don’t really have an issue with Jake,” Garcia stated in an interview with Ring Champs. “My issue was with Logan. I disagreed with him calling me crazy when I was raising awareness about sex trafficking. I reacted strongly, and that’s where our conflict began.”

“I said, I don`t like your drink – I`m refraining from repeating the exact words due to the lawsuit – and that`s how the negativity started.”

Regarding his boxing career, Garcia is already scheduled to fight Rolly Romero in May, and a victory could potentially lead to a rematch with Devin Haney.

However, when questioned about the possibility of facing Jake Paul in the boxing ring, Garcia embraced the challenge. He acknowledged the significant financial gain such a high-profile fight could generate. Although he would concede weight to Paul, Garcia believes this would only temporarily delay Paul`s inevitable defeat.

“Why not?” Garcia responded to the idea of fighting Paul. “Of course [I’d give up weight]. The fight has significant value. We would both earn a lot of money. He clearly thinks he would win, but I see that he overestimates his own abilities.”

Jake Paul`s most recent fight was an eight-round decision against former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson. The event drew over 100 million viewers on Netflix, further increasing Paul`s visibility in the boxing world.

While opinions are divided on the significance of Jake Paul defeating a 58-year-old Mike Tyson, Garcia believes the fight provided him with enough insight into Paul`s boxing skills.

“Five rounds, maybe four rounds because of his weight?” Garcia speculated about a potential fight with Paul. “He didn’t really do anything to Mike Tyson, and Tyson is 60 years old and was unsteady on his feet.”

Garcia`s interest in fighting Jake Paul is primarily business-driven, recognizing the lucrative potential for both fighters.

Ultimately, Garcia reiterated that he has no personal conflict with Jake, regardless of the ongoing legal dispute with Logan.

“I don’t really have beef with Jake, even now,” Garcia concluded. “He might have beef with me.”
