Tom Aspinall Teases Jon Jones at UFC London

MMA News

Tom Aspinall was enjoying the UFC London event, but he also made sure to take a playful jab at Jon Jones.

During the broadcast of Saturday`s fight night, Aspinall was spotted in the audience. Initially serious, the top-ranked heavyweight suddenly held up a toy duck and made a wide-eyed expression towards the camera. It`s pretty clear that Aspinall`s duck was a subtle dig aimed at Jones, who seems hesitant to agree to a fight with Aspinall.

Jones currently holds the UFC heavyweight undisputed title. He won the vacant belt by quickly defeating Ciryl Gane after Francis Ngannou left in 2023 and defended it against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309.

When the Jones-Miocic fight was postponed from its original date at UFC 295, Aspinall stepped in and defeated Sergei Pavlovich for an interim title. He defended that interim title against Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304. Although Aspinall has stated he`s ready to defend his belt against anyone, he is still actively pushing for a fight with Jones.

UFC CEO Dana White is also optimistic that the unification fight will happen, recently telling TNT Sports, “It’s really just a matter of timing now, getting the contracts signed and finalized.”
