Tommy Fury has a blunt message for Jake Paul.
Recently, Jake Paul, known as “The Problem Child,” claimed on his podcast that he could beat heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua, stating, “I know that I will f*cking beat Anthony Joshua’s ass.”
He further added, mentioning his friendly relationship with Joshua, but still insisting on a fight, “He doesn’t have a chin, and he has no skill, and he’s stiff. And I love you, Anthony. We’re friends, all this sh*t, but I want to fight you.”
This was a bold statement, considering Joshua`s impressive boxing credentials as a two-time heavyweight champion with a 28-4 professional record and an Olympic gold medal. Fury, who defeated Paul in a split decision in February 2023 and is considered Paul`s rival, decided to respond to the potential Joshua-Paul fight, downplaying Paul`s opportunities.
In an Instagram story, Fury said about a hypothetical Jake Paul versus Anthony Joshua match, “Just wanted to come on here and remind everybody that that bum couldn’t beat me when I basically had a broken hand. I had one hand and he still lost.”
Fury continued, addressing Paul directly, “Jake Paul, I’m still your daddy and everybody weighing this fight up, don’t bother, because he ain’t worth shilling. And a loss will always be there, Mr. Paul.”
Paul has gained significant attention since transitioning from a YouTube and social media personality to boxing. He has an 11-1 record, having fought several well-known MMA fighters, including former UFC champions Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley, and Nate Diaz. Most recently, he is scheduled to fight Mike Tyson in a high-profile event to be broadcast live on Netflix.
Fury remains the only boxer to defeat Paul, a point Fury frequently emphasizes. Fury is currently awaiting his next fight after his bout with Darren Till was cancelled due to Till`s threats to use MMA techniques in their boxing match.
Paul later responded to Fury’s remarks by calling him “Tommy Fumbles Fury.”
