Jack Della Maddalena and Belal Muhammad gave their utmost effort in the octagon, and their dedication was significantly rewarded.
The main event at UFC 315, a highly anticipated welterweight title showdown between Della Maddalena and Muhammad, was recognized as an “instant classic” and received the coveted Fight of the Night award. Although Della Maddalena emerged victorious via unanimous decision to claim the championship belt from Muhammad, both competitors were granted an additional $50,000 bonus. This extra compensation was widely regarded as well-deserved, with numerous fellow fighters commending the quality of the contest.
This marks the second time both athletes have received the Fight of the Night honor. For Muhammad, it`s his first since making his UFC debut back in 2016. Della Maddalena, on the other hand, has now earned bonus awards in six of his eight appearances under the UFC banner.
In addition to the Fight of the Night, Performance of the Night bonuses were presented to two impressive Canadian fighters, Jasmine Jasudavicius and Marc-Andre Barriault. They captivated the audience in Montreal with their stunning finishes.
Jasudavicius extended her winning streak to five consecutive fights, securing what is arguably the most significant victory of her career. She defeated former strawweight champion Jessica Andrade by way of a first-round submission.
Barriault was in urgent need of a win to halt a three-fight losing skid, and he delivered emphatically. He secured a dramatic and concerning first-round knockout victory over Bruno Silva. Following the bout, Silva required medical attention and was stretchered out of the octagon.
