UFC veteran Cheyanne Vlismas has concluded her mixed martial arts career.
On Monday, the former Contender Series participant and four-fight UFC veteran revealed her decision to retire from the sport via social media. Known as “The Warrior Princess,” Vlismas competed in the octagon four times, achieving a 2-2 record, and ended her professional career with 7 wins and 3 losses overall.
“As of today, I am officially retiring,” Vlismas wrote on Instagram. “This decision was incredibly difficult for me, involving a lot of heartbreak. However, it is something I must do. After the birth of my second child, my available time has become extremely limited. I find myself unable to commit 100 percent to my training without reducing the attention I give to my babies. This decision stems from my choice to be the kind of parent I always wished I had growing up.
Despite how hard this is because I deeply love fighting with all my heart, my children will always be my top priority. I understand I am young and a comeback might seem possible, but my decision ultimately hinged on whether I could leave my children for two months for a training camp. I simply cannot do that… This was a dream. While I didn`t fulfill every single dream, I reached the highest level, and now I plan to fully dedicate myself to being a mother. Lastly, thank you to all my fans.”
Vlismas secured a UFC contract after earning a unanimous decision victory over Hilarie Rose on the Contender Series show in August 2020. The 30-year-old fighter experienced a loss in her promotional debut against Montserrat Conejo Ruiz but subsequently claimed two wins against Gloria de Paula and Mallory Martin.
Her final bout occurred in December 2022 at UFC Vegas 66, where Vlismas was defeated by decision by Cory McKenna.
